OneNote

OneNote is an under-rated offering from Microsoft. Imagine having a traditional notebook with the coloured tabs down the side, well Outlook is your virtual version of this. It allows you the ability to organise your research in one central location. If you find a journal that is useful that you want to look at later? Add it to your ‘notebook’. Found a page in a book in the library that might be useful to read later? Take a picture of it with onenote and it can even pull out the text for you so you can edit that text to take quotes and put them in your essay. What’s more you can scribble and annotate on any picture with OneNote to highlight key information and make notes all from the comfort of your trusted phone. Anything you add to OneNote on your phone will synchronise with all your devices. OneNote is often compared to Evernote but the big difference between the two is that OneNote is free whereas Evernote will charge once you hit a certain amount of storage. So give OneNote a whirl and see how easy it is to keep organised with your research.
